Fr David with some parishioners of the Hobart Russian Orthodox Parish will be going to a Hierarchical Divine Liturgy at a small stone church at Lonnavale, about an hour south of Hobart, in the Huon Valley. Some time ago, Priest George Morozoff hand built a chapel on his mother's farming property. The building of private chapels was not uncommon in Imperial Russia, an act of family piety. Fr George very kindly invited Fr David to attend the blessing by His Grace Bishop George of ROCOR Australia and New Zealand, of this temple, to be dedicated to the Holy Trinity. Fr George is flying in the Russian Orthodox Men's Choir of Australia to sing. A number of other guests will be flying in, and staying at Lonnavale.
There will still be Hours and Typika read in our parish church this day at 9 am, with Reader John. Vespers will be served as usual at 5pm on Saturday evening with Fr David.
